Reading Davidson 4-5times b4 exams is more than enuf to get good marks in final yr. I didnt have patience to read Harrison(somehow i never liked that book) so i read George Matthews n Davidson. Allagapan- i read CNS n examination theory frm Allagapan. Golwala had given diff methods to mpalpate liver spleen kidney,JVP. Nw also in my PG case presenations ppl ask us the basics. I had prepared notes of General examination-clubbing pallor etc etc as its very imp. I dnt rmbr the details but jst check it out. Look n clear ur doubts abt wheeze/rhonchi/rales etc - Hutchinson n Harrison contradict in dis case. Aim hutchinson is a very nice book to read. Other books available in Indian market are either old one or copied from other books. It is wonderful for all category of students whether average or a brilliant one. All Clinical methods with illustrations are available there with questions and answers which are carried by the examiners in their pocket. Kundu's book is a holy gift to Indian Medical students. Like the major chunk of Asian students, We were totally infatuated with Kundu. Macleod is handy and 'good' but missing the Indian essence. We Indians will thrive on 'clinical medicine' for next 200 years, and Hutch is not suitable for that purpose. Many of the clinical methods dropped in new edition. If you want to read textbook, go for Mathews or Davidson 3. Allagapan is purely a 'text book', not a clinical one.
